The ancient Chinese bronze art is a great contribution to human civilization made by the ancients in the dynasties of Xia, Shang and Zhou, between ca 2070 BC and 221 BC. The perfect combination of modeling and pattern is the major factor that constitutes the emotional contents of the bronze wares, which embodies the cultural spirits of different ages.

Although the birth of bronze wares in China was later than that in some other places of the world, ancient Chinese bronze wares still play a unique and important role in the world’s art history, owing to their large scale, advanced crafts, and rich varieties. The bronze wares in ancient China feature splendid artistic modeling as well as exquisite and unique pattern. The decorative inscriptions on the bronze wares have provided many precious historical materials for the historians.

During the archeological projects, a large number of bronze ware masterpieces made several thousand years ago have been excavated and have drawn the attention of the whole world. They are the precious tangible cultural legacy left by the forefathers of the Chinese nation.
