Cemetery of Guo state in Sanmenxia

Cemetery of Guo state in Sanmenxia
The Guo state is a kingdom conferred in early Zhou Dynasty with the surname of Ji.

The Tomb of Wanyan Aguda, Emperor Taizu of Jin Dynasty, is the holy land of Jurchens and the shrine which has attracted the most adoration from Jurchens since ancient times. Inside the tomb are the josses of Aguda and his six meritorious ministers for the visitors to worship. Many Jurchen descendants would often come here to worship their ancestors.

The Hall of Peaceful Mind (Ningshen Hall) in the tomb preserves the coffin of Aguda and sacrificial objects such as weapons and horses. Looking back, when the Song Dynasty was conquered by the Jin Dynasty, Emperor Huizong and Qinzong together with their consorts and ministers once performed the ritual of surrender in this hall: all of them, greatly insulted, knelt down in front of Aguda.
