Jinzhou ancient city lies in present Jiangling County of Hubei Province. It is a large-scale military fortification in ancient China. Around the original city walls of Jinzhou ancient city, there were six city gates with buildings on them. Now only two gates remain - the eastern gate and the big northern gate. The ancient city retains rich historical and cultural connotations. Famous historical events such as Yu the Great controlling the flood and the contending of the Three Kingdoms have all left traces here. |
