Princess Wencheng

Princess Wencheng
Princess Wencheng was a lady of the imperial family in the Tang Dynasty.

Li Xiangjun was from Suzhou of Jiangsu Province. She was known as one of "the Eight Beauties of the Qinhuai Area" together with Dong Xiaowan, Chen Yuanyuan, Gu Hengbo and other four ladies.

Li Xiangjun and Hou Fangyu (one of the four most famous young scholars in South Ming Dynasty) fell in love with each other at the first sight. While Hou Fangyu was devoted to fighting against the eunuch factions and overturning the Qing regime to restore the Ming Dynasty, Li Xiangjun was always there supporting him. Upon his return to Guide, he took her back and they lived in the Jade Mansion.

However, due to her low birth and her past as a courtesan, Li Xiangjun was later banished to Manor of the Hou Family (now called Manor of Lady Li), where she was depressed to death.
