The Red Horse is a kind of precious horse brought by Dong Zhuo from Xi Liang. In order to cozy up to Lv Bu, Dong Zhuo sent him the horse as a present. But after Cao Cao killed Lv Bu in the White Gate Tower, the precious Red Horse was taken by Cao Cao. Later, Guan Yu, in order to protect the two wives of Liu Bei, temporarily sought shelter from Cao Cao. Cao Cao appreciated Guan Yu so much that he presented the horse to him. Since then, the Red Horse and the Green Dragon Crescent Blade had become Yuan Yu’s representative image. After Guan Yu fled from Maicheng when defeated and got killed, the Red Horse followed no other new owner, and died of a hunger strike.
