Emperor Shunzhi of Qing or the Emperor Shunzhi - Aisin-Gioro Fulin (1638-1661) is the ninth son of Huangtaiji. In 1643, Fulin ascended to the throne at the age of six upon the sudden death of Huangtaiji. His uncle Dorgon served as one of the appointed regents. In 1644, the Qing troops passed Shanhai Pass, defeated the peasant troops led by Li Zicheng and moved the capital to Beijing. Emperor Shunzhi regulated the government bodies and suppressed anti-Qing forces during his reign. He died at the age of 24 and was buried in Xiaoling Tomb. |
