The Five Dhyani Buddhas are located on the ground floor of the Pagoda of Longevity. In the Esoteric Buddhism, there are two types of Five Dhyani Buddhas, namely, those from VajradhÄtu and those from GarbhadhÄtu. In the VajradhÄtu mandalas, the Five Dhyani Buddhas refer to Aksobhya in the east, AmitÄbha in the west, Ratnasambhava in the south, Amoghasiddhi in the north and Vairocana in the center. In the case of GarbhadhÄtu, the Five Dynani Buddhas share the same Sanskrit names with those in VajradhÄtu. However, in order to make a distinction, they were translated into different versions in Chinese, namely, Baochuang Rulai in the east, Wuliangshou Rulai in the west, Kaifuhua Rulai in the south, Guleiyin Rulai in the northand Dari Rulai in the center. |
