Lord Ye was so fond of dragons he took to wearing clothes embroidered in dragon pattern, drank wine from a cup carved with dragons, and lived in a house decorated with paintings of dragons.
When a real dragon heard of his passion, it came down from the sky to call on Lord Ye. As it stuck its head through a window into the lord's room to make an effort to befriend him, its appearance so frightened Lord Ye that he fled into the street, dashing aside all obstacles, as though he was running for his life.

People may not be what they claim to be. Lord Ye is only fond of what looks like a dragon, not real dragons. Indeed we ourselves may sometimes behave like him, that is, being dishonest to ourselves.
