History -> Short Story, Great Wisdom - On Management

Fish On Ice

Wang Xiang lost his mother early. His stepmother was mean to him and often spoke ill of him with his father.

His stepmother liked fresh fish. But in winter when the river was frozen, she could not have any. Wang Xiang took off his clothes and lay on the ice to let his body heat melt it so that he could catch a fish. Suddenly the ice broke of itself and a pair of carp leapt out. Wang Xiang took them home and presented to his stepmother.

His stepmother was so touched she changed her attitude toward him thereafter.
